2024 Anesthesiology Residency and Fellowship Matches

Published on Sunday, April 7, 2024

We are thrilled to have successfully matched ten incoming PGY-1 interns and two PGY-2/CA-1s and fellows for the pain, pediatric and cardiac fellowships who will all be starting in our department in July!

For our residency program, our department had over 1100 applications for ten PGY-1 positions and two PGY-2 positions, and approximately ninety of those applicants were interviewed. The fellowship programs also had wonderful interview seasons. Residency and fellowship candidates interviewed virtually again this year. We were able to recruit top candidates from across the country and are very excited to welcome all our new residents and fellows into the department.

The incoming residency class comes from diverse and accomplished backgrounds and will no doubt contribute in many different ways to our department. Our incoming class of PGY-1 residents includes Drs. Jonathan Bishop, Alan Clegg, Tripp Edwards, Rabisa Khan, Braden Likens, Matthew Lucas, Alexander Nelms, Joey Reed, Benjamin Statham, and Kirby Thomas. Four of these PGY-1s are from University of Mississippi Medical School. The two incoming PGY-2/CA-1s are Drs. Brandon McDaniel and Kevin Tragesser.
